Food insecurity is a problem in nearly all states, counties, and cities. Marion and Polk Counties are no exceptions. Every month more than 55,000 Marion - Polk households, including 18,000 children, receive food assistance. Rick Gaupo, President and CEO of Marion Polk Food Share, and Curtis Eriksen, Nutrition Service Manager of the Salem-Keizer Public Schools, discuss the scope of food insecurity in Marion and Polk Counties and what their institutions are doing to serve food insecure people in our midst.
