Supporting
Salem City Club
Beyond attending our semi-monthly programs
there are a variety of ways in which Salem
City Club can be supported. Ongoing
volunteer opportunities exist-such as
greeting at our luncheons, serving on the
Nominating Committee or helping with
the annual auction and meeting. There is
the Annual Appeal by the
President which raises money to help offset
the expense of our speakers, various
materials published during the year in
support of our programs and of course the
phone and internet bills!
In 1999 Salem City Club established the
Progress Fund. The
Board of Governors' goal was to
"ensure Salem City Club's capacity for
change and growth by providing an
opportunity for members (and others) to make
contributions to fund special projects."
The areas of giving include the following
categories:
1. In honor of a Club member or
citizen of Salem .
2. As a memorial honor for a resident
of Salem and/or Club member.
3. As part of our annual President’s
Appeal fund drive.
4. As a contribution from citizens
who want to support the Club, but cannot
attend meetings.
5. To receive grant funds from
foundations and
corporate sources.
2008 will be the 41st year that
Salem City Club has hosted programs,
speakers, and forums in our community. To
ensure that this venue is available for
future generations we encourage you
to give to Salem City Club through your will
or trust. Leave a legacy that will inspire,
educate, and motivate future generations!
Gifts through
wills and trusts can be designated to
provide support for programs, speaker
series, forums, etc. Initiating a gift to
Salem City Club through your will or trust
is a great way to express your appreciation
of, and the value of the programs
presented. Including Salem City Club in
your plans can be as simple as adding an
addendum to your existing documents.
